Privacy
Your data & AI
Written to be understood, not to be lawyered: what Murmur keeps, what it doesn't, and what you control.
What we keep
- Meeting audio (auto-deleted within 30 days, or sooner if you choose)
- Transcripts, summaries and action items, until you delete them
- Your name and e-mail, to sign you in
What we never do
- Train models on your meetings — unless you opt in
- Sell or share data for advertising
- Record without telling participants
What you control
Delete any time
One meeting or your whole account — gone within 7 days, backups included.
Set retention
Delete audio right after transcription, or keep it up to 30 days.
Skip meetings
Keywords like "HR" or "private" in a title keep Murmur out.
Export everything
Download everything as text or JSON.
Consent comes first
Under Thailand's PDPA, voices and what people say are personal data. Murmur joins with a visible name, posts a notice in the meeting chat, and stops recording the moment any participant asks.
The AI behind it
We use third-party speech and language models under contracts that forbid training on or retaining your data (sample list — replace with your real providers).
| Provider | Used for | Processed in |
|---|---|---|
| Speech-to-text provider | Transcription | Singapore |
| Language model provider | Summaries & action items | United States |
| Cloud hosting provider | Encrypted storage | Singapore |
Limits you should know
- AI makes mistakes, especially with names and numbers — check before you share
- Noisy rooms and crosstalk lower accuracy
- Not a substitute for an official legal record
